Santa Sunday
Celebrate the arrival of winter and the upcoming holiday season with more than 250 Santas cruising down to South Ridge. All money raised benefits the River Fund. Santas must be in full Santa attire. This signature Sunday River event kicks off the holiday season in style.
250+ pre-registered Santas arrive at the resort in full attire, beard included. Not only is this event photo-worthy and has been featured on the likes of the Travel Channel, but it’s also for a good cause. At the last event, the in-hand donations made by participating Santas helped raise over $3,000 for the River Fund, a non-profit organization that supports youth education and recreation in the Bethel area.
All pre-registered participants can check in on Sunday, December 10 between 7:30-10:30AM at South Ridge Lodge before proceeding slopeside for the photo shoot. Participants must fill out their waiver and arrive at check-in wearing all of the following items: a red Santa hat with white pompom, a red Santa jacket, red Santa pants, a Santa beard.
The lift ticket you receive at check-in is only valid until 11AM. To continue skiing or riding for the day, you will need to show up at the scheduled photo shoot at 11AM, slopeside at South Ridge dressed in your Santa attire. After the photo shoot, we will all go up South Ridge Express and then ski down Broadway, a beginner-friendly green trail. After the parade down Broadway, we will validate your ticket to ski/ride for the rest of the day. Santas who participate in the 11AM photo shoot will also receive an additional lift ticket valid until Christmas Eve.
Spectators should get to South Ridge by 11AM to get a good view of the Santas.
